Doha:

Mr. Khalil Ibrahim Al-Jaber, Executive Director of the Qatar Olympic Academy, received on Tuesday morning at the Academy's headquarters in the Qatari capital, Mr. Mubarak Rashid Al-Buainain, Vice President of the Asian Sports Press Federation, and member of the Sports Media Committee.

During the meeting, aspects of cooperation between the Qatar Olympic Academy and the Asian Sports Press Federation in training and qualifying sports journalists and various media programs that can be organized between the two sides were discussed.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Executive Director reviewed the stages of establishing the Academy and the development of its multiple programs that it has provided since the beginnings of its establishment, referring to the courses previously organized by the Academy in the various fields of sports media, and praising the fruitful cooperation with the Sports Media Committee in the course that was held on the sidelines of Gulf 24, which targeted Gulf media professionals participating in covering the tournament.

Al-Jaber stressed that the Academy welcomes cooperation with the Asian Sports Press Federation in developing the capabilities of its affiliates, and establishing programs that keep pace with the vision and objectives of the Asian Press Union.

Mr. Mubarak Al-Buainain expressed his pride in the great role played by the Qatar Olympic Academy in qualifying leaders and employees of sports frameworks, as well as educating members of societies in general about Olympic and sports culture.

He pointed out that the Asian Federation of Sports Journalism attaches great importance to sports journalists and their rehabilitation through the programs it organizes periodically.

Al-Buainain pointed to the interest of the Asian Federation to sign a cooperation protocol with the Qatar Olympic Academy that includes many programs, foremost of which is the training program for young journalists.

The two sides agreed to draft the protocol, and to sign it later after agreeing on the details, which will serve sports journalists in Asia.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Khalid Al-Qahtani, Head of Media and Marketing at Qatar Olympic Academy, and Mr. Bashir Sinan, Member of the Marketing and Investment Committee of the Asian Sports Press Federation.

Research about hosting the World Aquatics Championship 2024

Doha: The Qatar Olympic Academy invited the Sports Impact Researchers (SIR) team from Qatar University who are currently conducting research about organizing mega sports events in Qatar and their impact on public value creation and capacity building in the higher education and sport sectors. Their research is funded by the Qatar Research and Development Innovation Council (QRDIC) for a period of three years.
